In one year, Justin Lichter (trail name: Trauma) backpacked over 10,000 miles with his dog Yoni. He began on November 1, 2005 at Cape Gaspe, in Canada and hiked south to the Appalachian Trail and then walked to the Florida Trail and continued to Key West. From there, he made his way to the Mexican border in California and hiked north to the Canadian border on the Pacific Crest Trail completing a thru-hike to all four corners of the USA. Finally, he walked from Glacier National Park in Montana, the northern terminus of the Continental Divide Trail, south following the spine of the Rockies to Mexico to complete his journey on October 22, 2006. Justin averaged nearly 30 trail miles per day. Along his trek, Justin winter hiked the deadliest mountains in North America, survived the deserts of the southwest, and mingled with the highest peaks in the lower 48. During his extraordinary trek, Justin relied on SteriPEN for his safe water anywhere. "I had to drink some really nasty water. The worst water I had to drink was awful but I didn’t get sick at all the entire time."
