Across the Andes

Our last night in the US for a year ... We're at my (Deia's) grandpa's house in south Florida, calling and writing people to say the last of our goodbyes before the trip. We did the last bit of supply-collecting today, finding the smallest toothpastes possible, a couple of novels (weight adds a whole new factor to reading material selection) and other last-minute bits. It was hard to say goodbye to immediate family yesterday. Today feels somewhat like Limbo, already having been on two flights but not yet out of the country. Tonight will be the final pack shake-down and come seven in the morning, we'll be off to the airport ...
