Warranty

SteriPEN product warranties are valid on purchases from authorized dealers only. For this reason we discourage purchasing SteriPEN products from unauthorized sellers.

SteriPEN Freedom, Ultra, Adventurer Opti, Classic 3 and Aqua

Your SteriPEN Classic, Classic 3, Adventurer, Adventurer Opti, Freedom, Sidewinder, Ultra or Journey is warranted to conform to its published specifications and be free from defective materials or workmanship for three (3) years from date of purchase.

Your SteriPEN Aqua, Traveler, Traveler mini or Emergency is warranted to conform to its published specifications and be free from defective materials or workmanship for one (1) year from date of purchase, also subject to the terms and conditions in this section.

Hydro-Photon will either repair or replace (at its sole option) free of charge, any parts necessary to correct defects in materials or workmanship.

If your SteriPEN is not behaving as expected, please contact SteriPEN technical support department at 888-826-6234 or support.steripen.com for device troubleshooting. If repairs are needed, the technical support representative will verify the terms of your warranty and provide return instructions.

This warranty extends only to the original purchaser and requires that the owner either register the SteriPEN online or retain and send copy of original proof of purchase receipt. It applies only to defects arising out of and affecting operation and does not apply to any damage that is merely cosmetic. Hydro-Photon, Inc. does not warrant any Product that has been damaged by or subjected to misuse, abnormal handling, abnormal impact, improper disassembly (but specifically excluding disassembly required for normal battery replacement) or any type of modification. This warranty covers only the SteriPEN itself, including circuitry and lamp (other than breakage of the lamp), but does not include batteries that you provide to power your SteriPEN, or damage from the improper use or storage of such batteries.

If returning a product for repair or replacement, please include your name, address and phone number and a proof of purchase if your SteriPEN is not registered. In no event shall Hydro-Photon, Inc. be liable or in any way responsible for any damages or defects in the Product caused by repairs or attempted repairs performed by anyone other than a Hydro-Photon, Inc. authorized service technician.

The above warranty is complete and exclusive. Hydro-Photon, Inc. expressly disclaims liability for incidental or consequential damages of any nature. (Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.) The above warranties are in lieu of all other warranties express or implied including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. As a condition to operation of your warranty, you must register your SteriPEN online or retain and send copy of original proof of purchase receipt.

BE SURE TO REGISTER YOUR STERIPEN WITHIN 14 DAYS TO ACTIVATE YOUR LIMITED WARRANTY.

    I purchased my SteriPen Journey in October 2012. It has and is operating perfectly! I just love this product. It is light weight and pretty effortless. It is crazy that I do not meet more people on the trail that have one! The water systems that I see others use are often cumbersome at best and prohibitive in most cases because of weight issues or operational problems. The only thing that I may add to my gear is a pump as sometimes there is not enough water flow or depth of water to collect it in the bottle. Also, I do not use the bottle that came with it because is is heavier than other plastic bottles of the same size. Thanks for putting a good product out there as water is a huge consideration when hiking in the wilderness!

    What is the shelf life of the Defender? If it is part of our emergency preparedness and stored in it’s original packaging and not opened?
