Love the Freedom Pen. We took it to China and on a cruise with us last year. As it is a rechargeable pen, you aren’t carrying around the weight of the batteries, it is very light. It was great feeling comfortable drinking water anywhere we went, where it wasn’t available in a sealed bottles. Having suffered from Bali Belly, as it was known in the 80s, I can honestly say that you don’t want your holiday ruined through a severe case of gastroenteritis. What can I say, I was young and naive. I never considered ice and rinsing after brushing my teeth, would lead to gastro. If it is not treated by a Doctor, it could land you in hospital. In many commercial situation, especially in Asia,, when requesting a bottle of water, it is important that you ensure all bottles are completely sealed, prior to drinking. Some places offer bottle water but it is water they have re bottled from their tap water. You have to hear that seal break. Beware of hotel drinking water. Unless they sanitize their holding tanks properly, their water may not be safely potable. The same applies to cruise ships. You are putting your health into the hands of maintenance crews. It is worth the investment of purchasing a pen because once you are back home, if for any reason you subjected to a natural disaster and your available drinking water is compromised, you have an easy means of ensuring your drinking water remains safe. In my book, it has great insurance value. I live in the Tropics, so speak from first hand experience. We forget, especially in Australia where we have safe drinking water in our cities and towns, that a river or dam supply, while out in the country, is not as safe as you think. Dead bird and animal carcasses do compromise that water.

Nice website, very informative. One suggestion – please add a photo with all pens lined up together to give perspective on relative size. Weight and size are important considerations for most customers. I just ordered a Freedom and can’t wait to try it out.
